RWE at LNG 16 in Oran, Algeria 2010
Project Overview
In 2010, 2-Expo had the opportunity to realise design of the German exhibit house and construct an exhibition booth for RWE, a leading German company, at LNG 16 in Oran, Algeria. The event, dedicated to liquid gas exporters, posed unique logistical and cultural challenges.
Key Challenge
The primary challenge was transporting the booth components and setting up the structure in Algeria, a militarized country with stringent regulations. Additionally, a volcanic eruption just before the start of the fair paralyzed air transportation to Oran, preventing many exhibitors from attending. Despite these complications, 2-Expo was committed to delivering a successful exhibition experience for RWE.
Solution and Execution
2-Expo meticulously planned the transportation and assembly of the booth components, ensuring compliance with Algeria’s regulations. The team coordinated closely with local authorities and logistics providers to navigate the complexities of working in a militarized country. When the volcanic eruption disrupted air travel, 2-Expo’s team on the ground demonstrated exceptional adaptability and resourcefulness to ensure the timely completion of the booth setup.
Outcome
Despite the significant challenges, 2-Expo successfully completed the booth setup for RWE, earning high praise from the client. The booth stood out at the LNG Fair 2016, effectively showcasing RWE’s offerings. The experience was both challenging and enriching for 2-Expo employees, providing valuable insights into working in a culturally and logistically diverse environment. The team had a chance to confront themselves with completely different culture, work attitude, food and so on. This was undoubtedly the most exciting professional experience one can dream of.
