ARKOS at Light+Building 2018 in Frankfurt

Project Overview

2-Expo had the pleasure of taking part in constructing an exhibition booth for ARKOS, a Spanish manufacturer of LED lighting technology, at Light+Building 2018 in Frankfurt. The primary goal was to create a booth that would effectively demonstrate all outstanding features of ARKOS products by showing how the beam of light emitted by ARKOS luminaires is arranged.

Key Challenge

The challenge was to select materials that would enhance the visualization of light beams and highlight the unique characteristics of ARKOS’ lighting products. The designer proposed using Valchromat, a high-density MDF, to achieve this effect. The entire booth needed to be made from this material in black, creating a distinctive and elegant look. Additionally, the design included movable panels that could be positioned at any angle to showcase the versatility and precision of ARKOS luminaires.

Solution and Execution

2-Expo executed the design by constructing the booth entirely from black Valchromat, which provided a sleek and unique character. The high-density material offered durability and a smooth surface that enhanced the visual impact of the lighting displays. The use of black Valchromat also created a dramatic contrast, allowing the beams of light to stand out vividly.

Movable panels were incorporated into the booth design, allowing them to be adjusted to various angles. This flexibility enabled the demonstration of how light beams could be directed and shaped, highlighting the innovative features of ARKOS’ LED luminaires. The panels provided a dynamic and interactive element, engaging visitors and offering a hands-on experience with the lighting products.

Outcome

The ARKOS booth at Light+Building 2018 was a standout attraction. The use of black Valchromat gave the booth a unique and sophisticated appearance, while the movable panels allowed for an effective demonstration of the light beams’ properties. Attendees were impressed by the innovative design and the ability to interact with the lighting displays, which effectively showcased the quality and versatility of ARKOS’ LED technology. Cooperation with one of the most recognisable Spanish architects was an additional bonus. This project made us proud of being a part  of team capable of creating  so engaging and visually compelling exhibition experiences.
